What is Cyber Essentials Basic?

Cyber Essentials Basic (CE) is a simple but effective, Government backed scheme that will help you to protect your organisation, whatever its size, against a whole range of the most common cyber attacks.

If your organisation would like to bid for central government contracts, which involve handling sensitive and personal information, you will require a Cyber Essentials Basic certification at the very least.

A typical Cyber Essentials Basic assessment will follow the following engagement lifecycle.

Step 1 - Platform

Ruptura InfoSecurity will create your organisation an account on a simple to use Cyber Essentials platform.

Step 2 - Self Assessment

You will then go through the questions within the platform, answering them to the best of your knowledge about your organisation.

Step 3 - Marking

Once submitted, Ruptura InfoSecurity will then assess the answers to the questions against a government approved mark scheme.

Step 4 - Retesting

If unsuccessful, Ruptura InfoSecurity will advise on the issues and will provide a free re-assessment within 5 working days.

Step 5 - Certification

Once successful, Ruptura InfoSecurity will issue a Cyber Essentials Basic certificate to your organisation. This will also be visible on the NCSC website.

Step 6 - Aftercare

A reminder will be sent for 1 years time to renew the certification.
